GISCO is proud to introduce the DMT 24 bit SUMMIT Compact Unit (SCU) for seismic exploration. Likely seismic techniques include very high resolution tomography, vertical seismic profiling, shallow reflection/refraction and deep seismic sounding for various applications, such as engineering seismology and environmental surveys. For Vibroseis application the correlation with diversity stacking is performed within the SCU.

One SCU handles 12 or 24 seismic input channels. Up to 1200 channels (50 SCUs) can be linked to a central control PC via a simple two wire cable. By using repeaters each 330 m the maximum cable length is unlimited. The SCUs can be linked to the transmission cable at any position. SCUs and SUMMIT 2 channel Remote Units can be combined on the same line.

Each channel consists of a preamplifier, an analog High-Cut Filter, an A/D-Converter and a high performance 24 bit Digital Signal Processor. This circuit allows high speed data conversion, digital filtering and has a dynamic range of more than 120 dB. The data are sampled with high frequency and reduced to the desired sample frequency using over-sampling technique, with improves system resolution. The control PC provides QC functions, data acquisition software, as well as plot facilities and final data storage on various PC controlled devices (disc, 9track, DAT, etc.) in standard SEG format.

Built in test functions include: sine test, pulse, instrument noise, geophone step, sweep transfer, autocorrelation, battery status, distortion, dynamic range, common mode rejection, cross talk, timming accuracy, geophone impedance, damping, leakage, natural frequency, and noise.
