LUND IMAGING SYSTEM

Automatic system for resistivity and IP imaging
LUND system shown with Terrameter SAS 4000
  • LUND Imaging System - designed for optimum versatility in infrastructure projects and environmental studies.
  • Fully automatic data acquisition allows a field crew to commence with complementary investigations during profiling.
  • Built in control and feed back to operator of contact points to avoid loss of information.
  • Acquisition software includes software for presentation of data as pseudosections and 1D images.

General field setup and the resulting image processed by 2D inversion

Typical areas of application include: Continuous monitoring of leakage and ground water movements, Mapping of contaminants, rock quality & fracture mapping, stratigraphic surveys, engineering surveys.

Thanks to the introduction of continuous profiling as a complement to resistivity profiling it is now possible to get continuous information from areas were electromagnetic methods will not work, i.e. where high conductivity layers restricts EM penetration.

The method is also very well suited for long term monitoring. Even if measurements are made at discrete intervals, a series of connected measurements will give information such as movement of pollution plumes, seepage through embankment dams etc.

Below is presented an example of a stratigraphic applications. However, new applications are presented frequently and the list of applications grow every day.

Wenner 2D model (rms residuals 7.8%)

A typical system includes a Terrameter 300C or 4000, LUND ES464 switchbox with battery, communications cable, electrode cable sets on reels, cable to electrode jumpers, electrodes, and analysis software. Note: a notebook computer is required to control the system when the Terrameter SAS-300C resistivity meter is used. Call GISCO for complete information.
