VLF ELECTROMAGNETIC INSTRUMENTS

GISCO proudly offers two VLF electromagnetic geophysical instruments. Both measure the reception anomalies of distant VLF radio transmissions due to variations in the conductivity of the earth at the reception location.

The venerable WADI™ from ABEM is for locating large targets at depths up to 100 feet or more. For many years the WADI has been in use all over the world for finding the best locations to drill for groundwater.

New to GISCO is the EMFAD® (ElectroMagnetic Field Anomaly Detector). It is designed for smaller targets at depths of 40 feet or less. It can locate conductive materials, such as metal, pipes, barrels, cables, reinforced concrete, electrolytic effluents, etc. Or irregularities like cavities, graves, faults, shafts, ground fills, deposits, caves, tunnels, and landfills. Applications include archeology, geophysics, geology, hydrology, and treasure hunting.
