In VLF-EM surveying
poor coupling from existing VLF navigation transmitters can sometimes
becomes a serious problem. The portable VLF transmitter TX27 was especially designed to overcome these adverse conditions. The TX27 gives a flexibility and versatility to VLF-EM surveying not previously available. The ability to choose the location and orientation of the VLF source fills a gap in VLF-EM surveying practice and will permit a more effective use of this method. The equipment consists of a VLF generator feeding into a long grounded wire to produce an appropriate primary magnetic field. A portable power source of 50 to 400 Hz, 115V, 300 Watts is needed to supply power. |
